Ten over - Saunton Summer 2007.

I have been surfing since my Dad introduced me to the sport as a three year old and I have loved it ever since.

We used to live in the midlands and had to travel to the surf every weekend. I joined the local surf club (the Hotdoggers Longboard Surf Club - based from Saunton beach). The club members really encouraged me and helped my surfing progress. They pursuaded me to start competing and I really enjoyed it. My whole family are members and we have loads of friends because of the club, which is the largest in the UK.

We moved to North Devon England in 2004 and I have been surfing everyday possible since then (which is most days surf permitting!).

My older sister (Kim) surfs as well and has just started to compete and is doing really well. She is hoping to get sponsorship soon - contact her through me if you're interested in helping her.

Local surfers such as Ashley Braunton, Greg Robinson, Shaun Marlow and many others inspire me to keep surfing and improving. The Hotdoggers club run by Norman Wright provide a great opportunity for Longboarders to get together and share their love for longboard surfing. To vist the club website, go to 'my favourite links' page to access it.

I am grateful for the support of my family and friends, and in particular my sponsors; Gul International and Seabase (Stewart surfboards), Nike 6.0 and Soundguard. My sponsors websites can be visited from 'my favourite links' page.

The legend Nat Young presents me with a trophy

What an honour!

Nat Young was on a tour of Europe during the summer of 2005. He was at Saunton beach for a promotion during the early part of June and agreed to present the trophies following one of our 4 club league contests. I won the event and so was really proud to recieve my trophy from Nat. We met up with Nat and his family again a few weeks later when we travelled down to Biarritz for the surf festival.
